The Mall

The most famous part of Washington, DC, the Mall is a 2.5 mile long, grassy park along the Potomac river. Stretching from the Lincoln Memorial to the Capitol Building, the Mall includes the White House, Washington Monument, Maya Lin's acclaimed Vietnam Veterans Memorial, eleven of the Smithsonian Institute's museums, including the Museum of Natural History, and many other monuments, memorials, and government buildings.
